Socializing Events with eCommerce

Living in the Middle East ties you with social obligations.  Many religious events requiring your attendance and sending greetings to purely social ones like engagements, marriages, baby showers, and personal birthdays.  A group of entrepreneurs want to tackle that issue with an online platform to make life easier.

One of Facebook's top reasons to log in everyday is to check on birthdays.  OlaHub (, wants to take it to the next step, to remind you of all social events with your friends and family and let users schedule and share the cost of buying higher priced gifts to event hosts.

The platform builds on that concept with a social network model where you can see who's from your friends is attending others.  This has a viral attachment element like in main social networks which can be capitalized on to build value equity.  It will come very valuable later on if the company wants to exit.

Hani Qassim from Lukemani worked with OlaHub to refine the business model, define a market entry strategy, and product design.

OlaHub is scheduled to be open mid 2016. For more information, contact Amjad Swais on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
